It was a fun, low-key event, though there were some very tight races contested. Congrats to the two winners, Tom Armanino and Johnny Gray! Thanks to the Loge and Phillips crews for the BBQ Saturday night. Racers are the best kind of people! Fingers crossed this wasn?t a first and last event. Thank you, Ken, for putting this all together.

Ken, you put on a great race.
I was really impressed with how efficient everything was run, how tight the track was, and how many cars we had show up to a "not NHRA" race. The weather was fantastic, save for the persistent headwind, and I think I can safely say we all had a great time. Special thanks to the Phillips and Loge families for putting on the racer BBQ Saturday night. I really, really hope that we can make this an annual thing and that future races will bring more cars than we had (20 for Race 1 and 16 for Race 2). Each race paid $2000 to the winner and, frankly, I can't remember a time where I ever got paid $60 for losing first round, so there's that, too! Congrats to the winners...both of whom beat me!

I also wanted to drop in and say a big thank you to Ken and everyone who helped make the Memorial Day Combo at Sonoma such a great event. The racing was competitive, the vibe was awesome, and the support from all of the racers, crews, sponsors, and fans was top-notch.
We captured some great moments from the event, including Race 1 Q1. Check out the video here: Looking forward to working with everyone to make next years event even bigger and better! Last edited by Brandyn Phillips; 05-27-2025 at 07:08 PM. |
