I'd be very surprised if they will have to different sanctioning bodies running 2 different races at Columbus.
I'm thinking there will be a schedule change coming.
But stranger things have happened

I stated it was IHRA, I was wrong at this point. Its what people are saying on the Facebook page, not an official post

As of five minutes ago, National Trail was on the track list at NHRA, not on the track list at IHRA.

A lot of things may not be clear until after the Gators

what I'm hearing is IHRA bought National Trails?
If NHRA can't run Sportsnationals there,my first thought is Sportsnationals would be moved back to Bowling Green Memorial Day weekend
I don't know any of this,JUST SPECULATION.

Even though a track is classified as NHRA can't they still host another event type?
For instance, Rockingham, classified as NHRA, had national events for NMCA and NMRA at the track. Rick Schafer is now on the IHRA team and am pretty sure he knows the rules.

Perhaps that would be allowed, but I assume NHRA would frown upon IHRA having an event at the same track on the same dates as an NHRA race.

Having both sanctioning bodies at your track would be a wise strategy. You can host a wider venue of events. And control dates and logistics. It's a win win situation for racers, fans, sponsors and making the sport stronger.

I believe NMCA/NMRA (and others) were not considered sanctioning bodies, they are promoters and were insured as such. Almost all insurers require the promoter to adhere to the well-defined NHRA safety rules, and SFI chassis/safety specs.
