Bout Time.... We haven't had a Ohio winter in 10 years. No snow, not much cold. It's been like November fall days, except it last all winter. We did have a crazy hailstorm couple years ago that destroyed the whole town. I received a new roof, downspouts, new siding and new Car. Homeowners insurance went up 800 dollars. From 1100 a year to 2000. We now have what I call a normal winter. Ponds are finally frozen over to where kids can ice-skate, sleds are back in use. This morning it's -10 and forecast shows a high of 15. Now THIS is more like it......

Jeff,
I agree. I recall back in 1978 when we had the dairy farm nothing came down our road or could for 4-days! When the township did get it opened, they were snow drifts halfway up the telephone poles. Winter of 1976 wasn't much better. |

Here in NS it was -19 this morning at 8am...how do I know? I was working on the hot tub!! GRRR! Always breaks either in a snow storm or freezing weather, lol!
Should be in the garage but don't think I'll waste propane when it's warming up to -5 in a few days which is where it normally is at this time.

Here in Charleston, South Carolina we received almost four inches including a thick layer of ice underneath the snow and it's been in the twenties and thirties for at least two weeks.
When we moved here from Connecticut ten plus years ago it was to get way from this. It's not what we signed up for, but my 60 years in Connecticut conditioned me for this. |

I would like to have your homeowners insurance prices. My homeowners insurance here in Texas went up almost 25% last year which amounted to about $1500 a year. My homeowners insurance is up almost $500 again this year. I shop every year and just paid it again for 2025. We have not had a claim since 2018 when we had a hail storm and a new roof. We live in the panhandle of Texas so we don?t have floods or hurricanes yet homeowners insurance is brutal. We do not have a huge house just a few acres of land. Texas does not have state income taxes but the insurance costs for homeowners and vehicles makes up for it. I am ready for some warmer weather. Yes, a lot of folks don't believe in climate change. Problem is all our insurance company's sure do! Another decade of this crazy weather and none of us will be able to afford the rates, if you can buy it at all. I say it way too much, but I'm glad I was born when I was. Being old is actually going to have some benefits... Ha Ha good Talkin at ya... Jeff

My insurance bill is getting totally out of reason. I have entirely way too much stuff to insure at my age. Stay warm and healthy. Rick Cates Canyon, TX |
