I know in D1 it's flip flopped a few times over the past few years, used to be Stock out first then it went to Super Street and then back to Stock. I loved when we did the rotating rotation about 15 years ago moving classes around, so they weren't always 5th out or last out.

Moving it around seems like a nice idea, but I like knowing the run order before I get to the race track and each day when I rise. FRom somebody that's almost always showing up at the race track late, it's nice that SG runs 5th instead of first lol

To answer the OP's question.

Stockers go out first because they are by far the COOLEST thing on property....

It was always announced ahead of time and SG never ran first, maybe 3rd or 4th but, if I remember at the E-Town National one year they ran SG, Comp, SSAH Class and back into SG, it was like 110 degrees out that day and if you were parked on the Pro Stock / Mod / Bike side, you didn't make it back from the 1st run before they called right back up for another run and cars & drivers were HOT about it, after that the rotation went to a plain set schedule except for Stock & SSTreet swapping in D1.

One year at the Winternationals my partner and I were expecting the run order to remain the same for first round. We were getting off the freeway and decided to see if we could tune in the track radio broadcast. Instead of stock being first out they were calling super-gas to the lanes and I was at the stop light by the freeway. Getting to my pit, fire suite on and charging to the staging lanes like a fire drill I just made it. LOL
