Mountain's version of Theme for an Imaginary Western was originally written and performed by Jack Bruce of Cream...The rest of the story is that Felix Pappalardi produced a couple of Cream albums, and did a great job here on the vocals.
This song was performed at Woodstock and appeared on the Woodstock II album set. RIP Felix P. and Leslie West

JD Souther worked with many of the LA musicians...Ronstadt, Eagles, James Taylor plus he had a couple of chart hits
