I absolutely hated it. Had to keep my helmet in the bag between runs in some attempt to keep it clean. Inside trailer and all equipment was covered in dirt.
I was parked in the dust bowl, but was right at the front edge of it and next to the paved roads. I'm generally not a track or pit snob. I'd go again if I made the All Stars. This was my last stop of a three week trip so was probably worn out by the whole thing too.

Compared to a track like BG, it is the pits. Be prepared to clean ALL of your equipment when you get back home. As for as the track goes, be extra careful. There is a reason the locals call it the Deathplex.

Google Earth has a 7/1/ 2024 image of the Ennis track that is pretty accurate.

It's dusty in the pits an air cleaner on the car is a must . Putting the dial on the back window was a first ever . There was a nice breeze all day long . I would go back as well if I made the all stars too. But they pitted on brand new back top.

I've never heard anyone that races it call it the "Deathplex". LOL I had zero problems with the track. Now in the gravel pits it is the pits for sure. |

Over the years numerous stocker racers have had close encounters with the wall right around the finish line area.

On a positive note. The weather in October should be great. Being at the races competing beats watching it on a laptop.New adventure! Sound like bring a few extra towels, and some detailer.Cowboy boots optional!!!

numerous top end misshaps... The best part is 1320' of concrete... The worst part is 1320' of concrete... The issue is the transition to asphalt at the finish line... When it gets hot the concrete expands and pushes up a hump... When it gets cold the concrete shrinks and causes a dip... So they have to shave the hump and fill the dip when weather makes big swings... Worse for cars with no suspension... (dragsters/altereds and such) Its been a long time, and when we were going I don't remember it being overly dusty but the place was fairly new at the time... Memory fades... But I think I have pictures somewhere with my car with air under the tires... |

Pits are deplorable for such a great venue.
