Getting a copy of Nitro Joes statistics from last year is very educational! In there are 9 SS/H cars, 5 of which are .7 (ish) or better under. A bunch of Camaro/Nova 327s and a 73 Firebird with a 455.

(ps I'm doing the same research on SS/LA)

Thanks for the info folks. That Camaro is flying. It makes me wonder how much better the aero is on it vs. my 66' Chevy II.

I think there is a site that has the CD for each body style.
If you can find it you can see the aero difference in Camaro and Chevy11.
I think it was SSDIV6 (Joe) that sent it to me, but several computer upgrades has lost it. If I remember it was a pretty interesting study..Some cars I thought were bad Aero were really pretty good & the opposite, too..

OH! one other thought...when picking a class
With most of the 6 or 7 cars running the same engine combination going .7 or better and there might be a AHFS adjustment or two along the way.

As usual, a mostly not related piece of trivia. When I was most active in racing in the mid 80s thru 2000 or so - Pro Stock, so think Cutlasses, Thunderbirds, etc - the lowest Cd listed in the GM wind tunnel was a 4 door Cutlass. Evidently because of a longer, flatter, roof with a different backlight angle.
