I'm going to post this here so we all can see it instead of getting back with Eddie. Evia, Dave's wife called me and said "Dave was granted 100 percent full disability and we were told he gets the highest they can get in money plus all kinds of benefits! But thank you!!!" She also wanted me to thank Eddie for thinking of them.
Your a heck of a guy Eddie, thanks Jeff

If he is 100% she needs to apply for the "Caregiver" Program via the VA Form 10-10CG ( for herself). He can also apply for a grant to have the safety handles installed in the bathroom and shower and ramps. Last edited by Eddies66; 02-15-2024 at 10:34 AM. |

![]() Her question was: Does her husbands disability compensation get reduced if she is paid by the Caregiver Program. The answer is no, you are being paid by the VA to perform the duty of a Caregiver and it is considered income. The VA form 10-10 CG was provided with instructions. |

The difference between the Caregiver Program and Aid and Attendance: The Caregiver Program is a program that pays the family member for the care of a Disabled Veteran. The compensation is based on the pay of equal to that of a GS-4 government worker. The Aid and Attendance Program brings medical personnel into your home daily to attend to the needs of the Disabled Veteran. The amount of disability compensation is increased to pay for that care.
No decrease in a Disabled Veteran's compensation is ever made. Last edited by Eddies66; 02-20-2024 at 09:16 AM. |
