Agree with Tony, some might wonder though if chassis certification level could also be considered a “barrier”. Probably not for parachute, Hans, etc but if a FS car ran quicker than 7.50 on a bye could their competitor(s) protest if they weren’t DQ’d?

Not sure if that also means if you run in the 9's as in for example a A/SA and don't have the safety equipment to be in the 9's. Just a thought.

Standard safety-related rules would still be in effect on a single as they would be in any other qualification or elimination round.

I could not think what would happen if a FSS car ran 7.49. Pat would have a stroke I believe. NHRA gets crazy at 7.60. a 7.49 run any where at an event would be DQ maybe for the year, Loss of first born child and a big fine to help enhance the safety of the sport.. LOL

Would the 9.99 number for the NHRA license be considered a barrier?
If a driver ran under the 9.99 would the run be disqualified or the driver for the event?

I think so ----Wasnt Bo buttner disqualified a while back on a run that was under a "certain" ET because the car was not certified to go in that ET range. ??? FED 387

So, does this apply to all the Super categories also? I.E. if you run under you class index,(10.90, 9.90, 8.90) on a single, you're disqualified? I always thought on a single pass you could run it out the back door and use it as a time trial. Am I miss understanding this new rule?

My opinion is ---if you run faster or quicker than whatever you are licensed for your out--
same applies for certification level of the chassis as well as the safety equipment (seat belts/roll bars/drivers suits etc.) you must have to run that ET. In other words what ET is your license good for and does your chassis safety level as well as protective clothing meet that quicker ET. In many cases it won't. |

totally agree with you. the pully changes have been helping with our cars not going sub 7.50. Last one was a real party damper for mine. Since my FX car is done I dont know how much we will be running the FSS cars this year. The 6.0 cert chassis will be good to go now. No worries on going that fast ever with these combos.
