The worst year at Indy was when a few hundred rigs were not yet parked on Wednesday at noon. Cannot recall exactly the money saving excuse but probably was on account of a few factors like: 1) Parking was not to start until Tuesday 2) It rained the night before 3) They fired "Redman"
I just know that everything works better when a racer can arrive at the track and is parked in their pit area within a few hours. Once you have spent 22 hours in the staging lanes waiting for a two man crew to route you to your appropriate pit area, then you and your entire crew are not so pleased with the NHRA. |
