I tried the 7" tires with no success, I know that the SS class of the Southeast Gasser Association mandates that the racers use the 7" tires. They only run the 1/8 mile and I know that some hook pretty well to allow them to run well into the 6,60 second range at 105 MPH.
I would try the 7" tires again, they were 5lbs lighter than the 9" tires which means more wheel speed.

Ha..They are probably the ones who could handle it best, with all the trickery they have.
10% throttle , 0 deg. timing..all in by 1000' mark.

Maybe a few wagon combos could handle 7" tires
W.A. Lee, 350 /2bbl, used the old Jr Stock Firestone dot 5's when 9 inchers were legal.
He'd run them at about 30-35 psi, stand on the converter, WFO, and just let go of the brake. Won quite a bit that way..

I think my old R/Stock wagon is still around in PA. somewhere.. 7 " SEGA spec Hoosiers.. Hmmm I think it would work ;-)

Just sold my Bucron 8.20's. I still have a set of 7.60's. They're still as l as soft as new. But I'd really like to get some of those old 7" Firestone blems. They were good enough to break lots of stuff back then, or was that a previous life.

Billy, I am glad this thread was an April Fool's Day joke, because I'd have comments/issue's with all three of James' comments:

1. The slicks that were on "Shark Bait" when I won the D7 LODRS divisional in October 2020, as well as the Arizona Stock/Super Stock Association combo race (both in 2022, and 2023), were 22×8×15.

2. If you "James" didn't put that laughing emoticon in your post, I would've thought you feel like many who might wish all FWD, and 4-6cyl Stockers would be banned from Stock (never mind the fact that several OEM car engine combos from the Muscle Car era, wouldn't run away and hide from my Z24 Cavalier that's still headerless)! Moreover, when Stock was really Stock, and not more like Super Stock from the '80 & '90's, even the slower V8 classes couldn't easily outperform my car! To those who still feel that way, I will say the same thing "The Grinch said to the Who's in Whoville, "BOO WHOOOOOOOO"!!!!

3. Because M/T stopped making those tires, I stopped doing burnouts. So you won't see me doing any front wheel burnouts with those tires again. Besides, another reason I don't do them is because the water patch is too big (what happened to a smaller patch and the racer doing a brief spin to wrap the water around his/her tires,, then pulling forward?)! I needed dry pavement for my parking brake to hold my rear tires in place while I did my burnouts (circa the Book "How to Drag Race, page 33 featuring my car starting a burnout that was far more massive than the picture indicated)!

Gary, just ignore Ponko. Just last week he was shopping for a "rental" for the Numidia Div. race because HIS Stocker which has 8 spark plugs (but runs like it has 7) is apart because it takes a lot of time and effort to keep those Stockers doing rear wheel burnouts. I graciously offered him MY Cavalier (you can find his post) and didn't want any kind of "rental fee" (not even a bottle of Cuervo!) in return. I can only assume that he felt embarrassed to have to admit that he couldn't handle it. :-)
