Prayers to his family and friends for their loss.
I enjoyed his posts and his all-around dedication to the sport. Not many guys like him. |

I hope that no one will take offense to this, but I think that the recently departed would be happy if we told nice stories about them. My Johnny D story: At New England Dragway in the middle to late '70's, there were 4 bracket classes. The 11.00 to 11.99 class was considered the toughest group of drivers. After the points season, Epping held a big dollar race. Rumor was the Johnny D was coming up from Englishtown. He was already known as one of the best bracket racers around. Johnny D came, Johnny D beat the best that we had, and Johnny D went home with the money!
I also want to say that he has been one of the best spokepersons for drag racing, and Sportsman in particular, that we have ever had. |
