See the post by SSDiv6 above. What he has in bold print is the part of the rule that applied in your case. I hate to see anyone lose or be DQ'd that way, but it is the rule.

![]() ![]() Seriously, I had a similar thumping happen to me recently and it was in a Fun race, not even any sanctioned deal and was not allowed to push start. I broke a starter in the lanes at St.Louis Open going to Top Stock first round. They called us in so I didn't have time to change it. I asked the person that I was racing if he cared if I got a "push" start since I was driving a stick car and he didn't care, but Jay said no way. I would have not figured this was that big of a deal. Especially for what amounts to a fun race with no points, but it is in the rule book, and NHRa is paying attention. It sucks, but it is a rule. I agree about the battery deal, if it ever got close on juice, having a fresh spare that you swap out would be a good alternative if you had a bad battery or some other problem. Since the quality of the small gel and dry batteries have improved, it is pretty easy to find a good battery that can take some abuse though so maybe it is a non issue if you shop the right battery in the future. I bought a "Rock" battery last year and it runs the fan, water pump everything and has no problem keeping up with an east coast alternator.

Jason Line was the only one I saw with a "clean" helmet and visor at Vegas.... Sorry for the hi-jack, I think not being able to jump a car off within a 1 or 2 minute "call" period is pure BS, especially if you are not at the ready line or in the water box.....you should be able to do anything within reason to get going behind the ready line. |

Jeggie didnt have his blinder on anymore. Neither did a few more as I noticed last night. The other thing is I raced for 2 years and hardly ever charged my battery at the track because my alternator worked. Imagine that, maybe they should take the battery cable off and see if the car runs Ill bet 90% wont.

I wasn't paying close attention, most that still had the most obvious blinders were the T/F drivers, but my mind and eyes glaze over within about 15 seconds of Paul Page starting in.....I need a way to filter everything but the 32 seconds of racing during the 3 hours of "coverage"... LOL
Dangit!! Hi-jacked it again. sorry, I'll go cut the grass now. |

I hate to continue the Highjacking but did any one hear the comment during the vegas race where a driver said something to the effect of "good thing we have the blinders to block out the sun or we would not be able to see the tree" I am going to watch it in the next couple of days and I will let you all know exactly who said it. I got it second hand so I'll have to watch it on the dvr to find out for sure. Also the new thing on blinders now it to use a mirrored shield or the blue one that simpson sells and put the blinder tape on the inside. You cant even see it from the outside it just looks like a tinted blue or mirrored visor. I have seen it on quite of few bracket racers helmets I am sure they are not the only ones doing it.
