If the Windows Update killed your ability to use the Altronics software you don't have many pretty options. Microsoft won't let you "downgrade" back to where it worked. You could find a used laptop running a version of Windows that works and turn off Auto Updates. Then use this as your track computer. The other is to fork over the $100 for the Altronics update. Either way, when you get things working get a backup drive and make a full copy of your laptop every week. That way if it freaks like this again, you have a working duplicate on a spare hard drive that can be changed out for the one in your laptop with a screwdriver.

I have windows 10 on the laptop. As far as I know you can
not stop the auto updates. You can delay the update check but not stop them.I guess If the pc is never connected to the web would be a way . The RaceWork software is non transferable The license must be generated from a file sent to Altronics. I think it generated from the cpu or hard drive ser # My question to Altronics is why it went to expire mode. If it Is a windows update that caused the problem , there should be other user with the same issue. David |

Have you talked to Fred at Altronics about this. I have their software as well and he will send you an update if you are current with your membership. When ever I have issues his updates have fixed it. He is usually very helpful. Give him a call or send an e mail to them. He will respond quickly.
