Actually stock and super stock met the quota before the event. Some dropped out. I know of 3 cars that dropped due to having Covid and weren’t up to racing. No way to get 40 more cars unless the quota gets raised. Had nothing to do with the AHFS

Rod thanks for the weather info. Could Chris or Jimmy have gone faster if the 1:20 was not a factor?

MJ and James this was not directed at you personally but Indy for the last several years has been the one National Event that didn't have the AHFS in effect. You two according to the poll on this site are in the minority for having the AHFS in effect for Indy. Shouldn't the majority rule. James I've seen the Masshole run faster than 1:20 several times in your same combo. What if he went to Indy and went 1:21 under. Weren't you not so long ago complaining to him not to go so fast. Hence your Masshole nickname for him. I know 4 racers that didn't go because of this not including myself. Although I have never gone 1:20 under at Indy it's not worth taking the chance of hurting my combo when It's already not the fastest in the class. And I don't want a mulligan. I suck at golf. It would be nice if at this one race a year where a lot of the faster cars go we get to run our cars out without the fear of instant HP. I'd like to know how I compare with other competitors in my class. My point with my first post was that with AHFS is in place no went 1:20 under so what did you gain. Don't we race a performance based Class. I think it sucks for cars to let off early to protect their combo especially at Indy in Class run offs. BP

Barry rules are to be followed as instructed by the AHFS so no mulligans at Indy
Or anywhere else we chose to race
Well I guess my silly *** is under factored, who knew. All this time I thought I was fast because I worked hard and spent money in the right places with the right people. Yes, one reason for my not attending this year was because of the AHFS being in effect. Mark Madison AA/SA

Barry,
On Thursday morning we could have gone about 1.28 under. I can’t speak for
Jim but he has the best leaving H/SA in the country

It used to be,,how big your hotdog was and how many wished they were as big as Jon!!
Now it doesn't matter how big you are,,but how you use what you got!! We all know whose got what, but who really cares!! I'd like to bring home the BIG WALLY some day.
And I bet the winner here wont be the guy that can run 1.30 under. We need to put more in our combo which we will over the next few years,,but for now we are happy with our size!!! I know in the past it was about bragging rights and if you work 20 years and spend $40,000 or more on your combo then you deserve to be 1.20 plus under,,even in crappie air.

Now let me get this straight, if you "work on your combo for 20 years and spend $40,000 or more on your combo then you deserve to be 1.20 plus under even in crappie air" ?

If THAT's the case, then I guess that I "deserve" to run about 3.60 under and win Indy just by entering!

Maybe we should just go back to the pre-AHFS way of factoring combos where you showed up at the track and found out that a couple of Tech Inspectors who don't like you decided during the week that you're going too fast and you're combo is now rated 10 HP more than last week!

If you have that much in the bank, what's there to be afraid of? Peer pressure? Let it fly! If you don't use it loose it.

So Billy just curious are you telling Tim in an indirect way that you have spent more than 40 grand on your current ride? And as you know better than most you don't need to go 1.20 under to win a round. I watched you this year take down some pretty tough opponents. BP
