As a business move, I don't understand the logic of selling the building and then leasing half of it back. Why not just lease half of the building out for long term NHRA income?

"Evidently some of the California-based executives will remain on the West Coast, while day-to-day operations will occur out of the Indianapolis."

We can't expect the "executives" to give up their sunny southern California lifestyles can we.

If they were smart, and we know they're not, they would would relocate the whole deal to Indiana which would be a net get gain of 23% in tax relief. Just not as glamorous as Wolfgang Puck's Smoked Salmon Pizza.
I'm just saying.

This is an example of reacting to a situation rather than acting. I have been reading for a few years that there have been suggestions to relocate. Now that there is a crisis there is some movement. There has to be at least one of the management team that could have started this action before the fact. Did they not see the teams relocating? Did they think Don Schumacher Racing has made the move for any reason other than logistics? Same with Force. Change is very hard but has to take place.

It made sense to have their headquarters in SoCal when there were 15-something tracks in the state and seven Nationals all year. I remember the picture of that building in the 1970's rule books. I hadn't noticed there was a warehouse extension until now.

It only makes sense when looked at through tax codes, both Federal and State.

Anyone need a 64 Dodge?

Feels like I’m not going to have an available NHRA race in California by the time I get it back together. 😒

Sounds like an opportunity for a big bucks "independent" race(s) at Las Vegas (?) for the D5-6 & 7 contestants.

But now we have a double N.O at Sac and Fallon... So they could have pulled off a divisional?? ..
