Sorry not many pictures today. Seems like everything we touch we have to mess around with it or change stuff up, typical car stuff. Got the distributor collar set up, shifter is finished, starter in and wired, battery checked and charged, clutch linkage done, 1 header is tight and the other I'll wait till we see if the accusump lines fit. And Autumn is real happy because she has the dome light wiring figured out, just need to put the switch in. She was a trooper today worked on it this morning then went to work in the afternoon then came back after work, that's why she looks tired in this pic.

Thanks Frank. This division really takes a toll on a racer, we're tired. Trying to work and get a car ready is tough. At the end of 2021 we will have 14 weeks from seasons end until the 2022 season starts, add in the holidays and if any significant work needs to happen it's a real dash.

Enjoy your posts. Just curious about your clutch linkage, are you using the O.E. linkage? Have you changed the pedal ratio?
Thank you. |

Yes Greg stock type Z-bar extended with multiple holes for ratio change options, and stock fork. I can get you pictures if you need to see it. Certainly not perfection and could be improved upon but effective none the less.

Thanks for the reply. I have about a 4:1 pedal ratio and the pedal is quite stiff. The pedal feel is about the same with either a SoftLok or diaphragm style clutch. I have a new Z-bar on order that I plan to modify to increase the ratio.

Greg, We have multiple attachment points on the pedal as well as the z-bar on both ends to change for throw and leverage. I put the whole mounted clutch/flywheel unit in a press with a magnetic base dial indicator and measure how much movement at the TB/levers it takes to unlock the disc and how much to get any given disc air gap. Then you know exactly what the linkage needs to do and how the pedal stop should be adjusted. Shorten the pedal throw to quicken reaction and lengthen the throw to slow reaction.
