[QUOTE=matt82114;631520]In my opinion, they did this to show NHRA how racers SHOULD be rewarded with better payouts and promotion.

If this race is a success and the baby gators flops, I think NHRA will quickly realize they're in trouble and make drastic changes money wise.

I highly suggest racers attend this race. It'll really make heads turn in Glendora. NHRA thinks they're the best option for sportsmen, pro stock & pro mod .... this race should prove them wrong.

Don't miss your chance to snub NHRA and prove racers deserve better.

Wish we had more options to run our car .... but we're kinda limited. Lol

Double edged sword. If it fails, makes NHRA position stronger. With $500 entry, compared to NHRA $200. will be interesting.

The Southern Sportsman Showdown is $900 entry for 3 $20k races, The Class racer revival is $699 for 2 $25k races. $500 for single $10k race is not the best deal in town considering ProStock is $1000 entry for $75K. I guess S/SS combo will cover the ProMod/ProStock payout. I will be racing the Showdown and Revival, Just not sold on the Doorslammer just yet.

That is a very busy weekend. I plan on being at the NMRA in Bradenton for the Cobra-Jet Shootout.

I can go to other Division races but only get an couple of chances a year for the Cobra-Jet deal.

I don't have any grade points from sitting out the past few years. So the fun of going to Gainesville back to back isn't in the cards for me.

It's sad to see so many good options on the same weekend.

Push come to shove, the opportunity to run class is a bigger draw than $$$.

Is there anyplace that shows the payout structure for any of these big dollar races? Not that I have a car ready or would ever travel that far. But I have always looked more at Entry fee than the purse I know I have to pay the entry fee the odds of bringing home the big $ is pretty slim for most that enter. Now if you can make a few rounds and get your money back that makes it more appealing than the very top heavy payout that some have.
