I don't like any of this non- paper time slip crap, but geez...

You can buy a NEW Samsung A 11 for less than 200 bucks, with a year warrantee..It'll
do anything you need to do here.. Maybe 50 bucks a month for basic internet..Verizon will give veterans 10% off of that.
You guys spend a grand to go to a points meet, so don't tell me you can't afford this. ;-)
Uh, so we are supposed to carry the NEW Samsung in the car and dial the www between the end of the track BUT before the scales to see who won ???....AGAIN I say to NHRA, please stop the MADNESS and give us OUR friggin time slips....

I don't like it either, but seems like an I-phone is just another requirement this year. Just like 15-20 dollar gas, two year belts, etc.

Seems to me, without a red light in the other lane and early win light, when you can win or lose my thousandths, why not just stop at scales until Jr. downloads the time slip for you ?

Why not jam-up the scales and fuel check and see how long it takes NHRA to fix the problem that they are trying to create?

As we were being torn down, after losing 1st round, we asked the official what happened.
He said they drove past the scales.
We were told that every racer, win or lose, should go to the scales.

As an unwilling participant in the win light fiasco. I might as well throw my two cents worth in. I ran towards the front of line; probably 5or 6 pairs from front . Nothing was said about the left side win light not working. When I ran and my win light didn't come on I did what I.ve been doing for the last 40 years and went around the line at scales. I usually wait for my opponent to weigh and be a good sport about losing but he stopped at end of track. It wasn't until I got back to pit area that I found I had won.In my opinion myself and a few other racers got a royal screwing. Telling people that the win light isn,t working in the middle of elimination's is just plain stupid. nuff said.

I never carry a phone in the race car or even in my pocket on race day.
I concentrate on racing and do not want calls or texts when I am racing.
I just do not need the distraction.
Maybe just me.

I just shut my ringer off in the lanes.
Nice to have a phone if your car quits at the last turnoff...Or maybe you meet a potential customer in the lanes during a half hour cleanup..You want to save his number.
Too much of a convenience, in today's world , to go without it.
Maybe just me ;-)
