Back then, there were varieties - MS-DOS, IBM-DOS, etc. I remember I had to ask some of the REAL veterans about it even back then. A couple of them remembered it from the very early days of PC operating systems.

It's been a while so I don't remember if there were any differences other than who had the rights to sell each version, but I vaguely remember asking him about it and seem to remember it could do some things he needed that the other ones couldn't.

Would you know if the software has its roots before DOS? Maybe CPM?

Stan

It was old even back then and I never had a copy to mess around with. So it may have taken inspiration from CPM but it was definitely using DOS commands and procedures though all the different coders may have added or subtracted things.

It was before MS locked everything down tight and the licenses other companies had ran out. There were various versions that added or dropped things. I do remember the old hands saying it was DOS, but just another take on the source code.

Not trying to stir the pot but I didn't see any spot checks like I normally see at a National event so I was just curious if someone else did or got checked themselves.

Didn’t see any of that either. But I did see plenty of activity at the tech trailer. Looked like they did tech some cars that may have had problems with the online tech card. Also chassis certs. Personally I liked the online tech card and pre entry. Now I just have to see how long it takes to get paid for my winnings. Lost 4th round so I have a small check coming. I filled out the online W9 form and e mailed it first thing Monday morning. That is the only negative

Agreed Mike I had no problem with the online tech either I was curious if they did spot checks though. All things considered I don't see how they could have with the amount of staff they were allowed to have unless they were going to work those few to death.
