Thanks Jim. Wondering mostly about the 91 Camaro that ran fast. A friend here runs that combo and obviously is not happy.

She broke the news to me last night just before I was going to bed so obviously I didn't get much sleep last night! I think I may go ahead and bury this combo before I go to the dish combo to make sure everyone is done with it.....

What if mineshaft was determined by actual weather conditions rather than how many sandbaggers show up. I'm sure NHRA could afford their own weather station, make the determination in the morning what the DA is and if it's less than the nominal elevation of the track, it's mineshaft for the day. Just looking for ideas.

Does anyone know exactly what combo LaPorte was running, now that I think about it I thought he ran the 241 combo not the 272 350 combo?

Cooter, I like the way you think, but it is a 272, now 281 combo, same
as yours and mine. J.R. |

Well I guess that's what I get for thinking, I guess I might try the 241 now.

I'm kinda glad to see guys pushing the limits and setting records like in the old days. I know getting hit with weight isn't what anyone wants but what's the point of making a car fast otherwise?

The car in question did not set any record. All he did was make it harder for someone on a budget to race and be competitive. Some of us don't have 20k to put into an engine. Guess I will just sell my crap and go back bracket racing..... Not to mention he ran that in the absolute best air you will ever see. Next closest car with the same combo at that race was 4 tenths slower
