Tim just for your info even though it's none of your business I paid for test and tune long before they started the gamblers race. The gamblers race was as you said was 25 dollars to enter. Less than 20 joined how much did you think it was going to pay. At several of the ASRA meets I see cars all the time running test and tune and the ASAR race. Is there a rule against it? I'm not missing your point your missing mine. You my friend have no say in how and when I race my car and I have none in yours!! You act like you are new to Stock but you are second generation and have been at the races for years with your dad. When we ran in the third round if you told me that if I beat you it was going to ruin your weekend and take the wind out of your sails would you have wanted me to take a dive. Would you have felt better knowing that you really didn't win that round. Not me. I'm sorry you were so upset. Instead of complaining to everyone there why didn't you come over and tell me how you felt. I would have told you why I decided not to race in the final. The right I had the choice to make by beating you. As I said I just didn't think it was worth me beating on my car anymore. My choice not yours. Greg won 200 when Marc gave me the money I believe it was 125. I will buy a participation trophy and keep it in my trailer so if we race again and if you loose I will give it to you. Than maybe you will feel better. This sport is a tough one. Your going to need to handle a loss better and understand you can only control how you race not others. Again if it was the main ASRA on Sunday I would have gone up for the final. BP

Barry, I said my peace, but you can’t seem to let it go, I wasn’t that upset about it, to tell the truth it was more your pompous attitude about it that bothered me more, I wasn’t upset about the 200 dollars, and no I wouldn’t have asked you to take a dive, I don’t operate that way, and I wouldn’t expect you to either, again, it was more how you went about it. I can take a loss just fine, and yes I have been around for a while and I respect my elders, but when something like that happens to you, I’m sure you would have lost a little respect for that person also, just my opinion. Believe me, if I couldn’t afford this game, I wouldn’t be doing it. But I can, and I can have my own opinion on what happened, had I known maybe I would have dialed different and not beat up on my stuff trying to win a round, maybe you could have been upfront and say hey after this pass I’m done. Maybe next time just be upfront to your competition that’s all, and your right it’s none of my business either way!

A case in point , especially with NHRA's pathetic purse, I always thought the point in racing was for "the win". Long after the $200 is spent, the trophy and memory will last a lifetime. Not only was it a slap in the face for all who entered not to race in the final, but whomever won the race didn't really earn it. His winner trophy and memory will always be flawed. Do most want to remember winning a final going double 0 and dead on or take a single because another racer was tired? I don't subscribe to a win is a win and love to be the true champion when I win.
Not a real wonder why the younger generation doesn't enjoy racing stock and super stock with attitudes like this. Keep your head up Mr Stickles, your day will come and you definitely have the right attitude! |

This was a gamblers race the real race was on Sunday the next day. I think Greg understood or maybe he's still seeing his therapist about it. They don't give out trophies for a gamblers race. BP |

I'm not much for adding more rules in general. The AHFS has it's flaws as we both know, but it has the right intent. I would leave it alone if it were my decision to make. |

I'll jump in with my opinion, of course we know about opinions lol. Maybe they should put the indexes back where they used to be before they took the 3 tenths off years ago. Second under tunes will now be 1.3 under LOL. Talking real solutions though, NO heads up runs at Divisionals… Period. Leave it for Class Eliminations and National Events. That will promote more people to run divisionals with their 4-5 tenths under cars since they won't be scared of a heads up. But also run more Class Eliminations at Divisionals for those who want to be the Fastest. Then they need to start enforcing the rules that are already in place as well. No new rules, Leave indexes alone. Maybe visit some combos that have been hit hard and that nobody runs now.

NO HEADS-UP runs for Divisionals, read the forum you're on.
Class Racer.com. This site was created for Class Racing. Even NHRA is promoting more class racing in 2020. That is what started drag racing in the beginning. I've lost a number of heads-up runs in my time, but I've also won a few. Nothing like WINNING!!! |

Maybe I am just a self-employed businessman and have no idea what changing the indexes do. I have watched the indexes changed my racing career a few times and don't see what changed for the better any of those times. It seems like a lot of convoluted semantics to me. Fix the factoring system. Someone's feeling are always hurt so just make the best of a system that can be repaired. Another thought is make class and records worth something again, which will get the horsepower more in line.
