NHRA SHOULD setup a reserved Seting grand stand at the tear down barn it could be more interesting than the racing?

National Event Sportsman Teardown Announcement
Moving forward, the NHRA Technical Services Department would like to remind all Sportsman Racers (i.e. Pro Mod, Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Competition Eliminator, Factory Stock Showdown, Stock Eliminator and Super Stock) to be prepared for teardown when attending an NHRA National Event. All racers should bring any and all necessary tools and/or equipment, as well as any and all necessary parts and components (including but not limited to gaskets) to complete a full teardown and reassembly prior to further competition. Thank you in advance and we look forward to seeing each and every one of you at a future NHRA National Event.

Seems like they could tear down the 2 fastest guys from each class in qualifying. Then anyone that goes .90 under in a heads up race.

I agree on this and should happen more often, BUT if NHRA wants to see a crank, PLEASE supply the Guy or Gal and engine picker, it is INDY and it is there garage and track, they should keep one or 2 there. hope this will keep people honest, LOL Good Luck.

Comp is allowed any internal Modifications,as is Top alcohol. If I set a record they pump the engine and check for illegal equipment and done. If NHRA wants to pull a Piston in my DOHC Comp car they are going to have a fight on their hands.

Steve,

There are still many things that can be checked in Comp such as making sure they run the correct size/type of carburetor. Pumping the engine for claimed cubic inches and also, to make sure they run the correct engine bore spacing. The rumor mill says there have been instances of some guys running small block Chevy engines with 4.50" bore spacing in classes were they must run the OEM, 4.40" bore spacing.

At Noble points race they had Bourgeois pull a head to check bore and stroke, bore spacing, injector size, rear tire width and wheel base. At Tulsa they had Rampy, Hildalgo and I believe Pitt and Stanfield pull a head.
