Paul asked about the starting line elevation at Numidia, just looked it up on topographical maps, about 980 ft. above sea level, for 11 years Dave McMeans and I announced the LODRS events and they were always held on the last weekend of July, it could get plenty hot there for sure and storms could brew up real quick also. Considering the altitude and heat cars still ran pretty good numbers. Yes it is a beautiful track, facility and surrounding countryside. I looked at the ridge tops for their elevation, top end of the track ridge tops and behind the starting line past the village of Numidia both top out at about 1700 ft. or so. Those racing or for the race fans, have a great and safe event.

The view and scenery there is really great.
Definitely gets hot there and seeing over 4000' DA is likely in July and yes the storms that roll in can be pretty strong and happen fast. I was there bracket racing July 4th weekend 2013......Hot and muggy Saturday and Sunday and a real strong storm rolled in late that afternoon....race had to be cancelled..... That line of storms hit my home area 125 miles East, before I got there and knocked out power overnight !! I was at the last 2 Division races in the early 2000's and also last year... I can recall the last one I'd guess 2004 and that was HOT !! Not gonna make it out there this weekend...….
