a few years ago there were quite a few hemi shootouts. the mentallity for that is peddle to the metal. heck with the index. we also had many builders who are very good at making those things run. i wish farmer dismuke was still here, bet the indexs would be a little closer for all.

James you're crude but you're cool at the same time. Enjoy racing as long as you can and do it your way.

You know something is wrong with the index when so few Hemi cars are at the Gators. Lots of good running cars at Indy didn't qualify or were way down the list. You shouldn't need to have an oddball combo to make the field.

i have nothing against the Hemi guys, just saying 3ths off with a stoke of a pen {twice total}, come on, i would have kept my J car,if they would have did that for a poor old steel headed Carb motor. LOL

Technically the Hemi's are poor old steel headed carb motors too...Ha

I think a better option for the AH stuff would have been to let those cars back into SS/A or SS/AA...and make AH a shootout only deal with a 9.30, maybe 9.40 index.

I only asked for .15 I explained why about Mission race prior to ,everyone getting .3. Nhra didn't even know our index was 9:30 They said our old index was 9;45 and gave .15 to a 9:60 .Didn't ask for .3 How can nhra not know our index was 9;30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so Brian you think if there are 30 ah cars at Indy not even one belongs in the top half? No 97 was the fastest!!!!!!!

Brian, you do realize how big of a baby you come off as. If they gave your combination in SS/BA or SS/JA horsepower back, you're asking for your combo only.
With SS/AH they gave EVERYONE in the class index back. Same as giving index back across the board in SS/BA and SS/JA to ALL cars in that class! You do realize the only place this matters is on the qualifying sheet, mainly at Indy where the fast AH cars went home and the AH cars that came to race went home also. Because they weren't qualified!!!!!!!!

And to cry about the SS/AA &BA Camaro not being soft??!! Doesn't Mr Armstrong (no Disrespect) own one of the fastest cars in SS/AA? Isnt it true the corvette took a hit (again Mr Armstrong) and cant run with the Camaro which is the reason He ( again Mr Armstrong) is building a Camaro? Because it is softer than the Vette which no one seems to be able to run with. Hats off to A&J Automotive as they race the old fashioned way. Walk "softly" and carry a big stick! You come down to div 4 and I will introduce myself and teach you some manners. Gator
