Rod,
I'd REALLY like to know how it works for you. My shop is 150' from the house and I tried the range extender and it didn't work. Never thought of having the extender located in the shop as previously posted. When I talked with the BB geeks they advised to locate in the house - returned the extender Eric

Here's another option to consider - CCrane makes a few different WiFi range-extender products and this looks like it would be perfect for a detached garage/shop, especially if you want to be able to stream Warren Evans' www.dragracer.tv programs.
https://www.ccrane.com/item/ant_wifi...ystem__2-4_ghz I've got the FiOS WiFi router and although it works better than just the old extender, it still leaves "dead spots" in the yard. Lew
