First thing that needs to done before adjusting HP or Index, see if the car is legal! Fuel and weight is not enough to affect others.

There might be something about this issue. Fox Sports has spent time focusing on the Comp classes during their national coverage.. Old, new and rails and funky combos. Similar transition like S/SS(Dime Rockets front and center). Might be a good new and profitable direction for all.

All the Comp guys I know think its as stupid as hell. We already know trying to explain our classes is hard, wait till we would have to try and explain why 2 J/SA cars running each other was no longer a heads up. As was mentioned, just like socialism.....

I think not!! I'm not sure of the comp guys take, but their car count numbers are not improving. I don't know if the P I has anything to do with it, sounds like a poor idea to me.

Since It worked so well for comp??

Let's go the other way and run off the national record. You run under, you're the new record holder and come apart. It's a performance based eliminator, some people seem to forget that. Put up or shut up!

And while we're at it the quotas are 65 cars let's, have it a 64 qualified field. 1 car doesn't qualify and you have a 6 round race. no bye runs.

After a long departure from racing and now racing a stocker, it has been an intetesting learning curve.
Class racing has changed a bunch. LOL. Whats stock in a Stocker? Not much I found out! They are more like SS cars. SS cars with hood scopes are more like the old Modified Production or Comp cars.
One thing has not changed, the more money you spend and the harded you work at it, the faster your combination will go. This will never change.

Consider a separate FS eliminator, all 2008 and newer cars. 128 field for Stock/SS combined eliminator, 2007 and older cars.
All non OEM hood scoop cars in to Comp eliminator W/ a new rev limited option class ( to attempt to control costs) and they must be driven up and back.

All of this could reduce the car counts in stock and SS allowing more competitors to enter.
Factory Showdown guys get what they want. The Stocker guys get those 8.0 cars out of the eliminator. The Comp guys get more cars and maybe just save the eliminator. The new class that has some cost controls ( 80K Comp engines costs are a bit over the top). And if the guys with Modified Cobalts etc don't see Comp as an option, put a flat hood on it and race SSGT

Just my perspective as to a way forward.
Would there be more winners than losers?
