Your 100% Correct. Random checks should keep you on your toes, cause you never know when they will come around to check you out.
A couple of years ago they were making you pop your hood in the staging lanes to see if you had a "fake" battery in the front. I believe it was at one of our points races here in D1.

The element of surprise is probably a good thing !!!

BC is correct, after E4 all of the SS winners were directed to NHRA Tech trailer after scales. 5 officials looked under my hood, in the trunk, behind / under both seats, they checked my safety equipment again (they checked it before Q1 in the staging lanes), they also plugged into my Grid to check for traction control.

I also saw where they'd kept Tyler's stocker off to the side so he could go back to race in SS.

Watched the high speed version of the event race last night via tape delay. Was fast forwarding and saw the FS Camaro hit the wall. Did a replay and it appeared something fell off Heberts car as it came down from the wheel stand. There was liquid spray from the vehicles right front, did anyone post the cause of the leak?

Thanks Larry for posting about the less than ideal conditions for the first pass Friday. I followed, in the second pair in super gas, after super stock, and it was pretty bad. I went back up and watched the final few cars in super gas. And before they ran the outlaw cars, they dragged the track and then gave it a generous spay of traction compound, thru the entire 1/8 mile. Nothing was done before the started the first time run for super gas.

And NHRA wonders why no one wants to be in the first few pairs out in stock. Could it be the NHRA decision makers are saying "That will do". In business and in real life "That will do usually won't"! For me It was .06 quicker Saturday in 60' than the first run Friday.
