Thanks all, knowing I can bring some of the action to everyone, makes it all worth while.
Ron, I left right after photos, sorry. Here are some actions photos from the semi's and the finals. It was hot, about 90, but it was a great time with great racing. The place was packed, the parking lot was jammed and people everywhere. An interesting note on the Super Stock win. Obviously everyone knows that was Dan Fletcher's Camaro that Timothy was driving. Dan's Camaro was his dad's and only three people have ever one in the Camaro, Dan's dad, Dan, and now Dan's son. To say it was a little emotional would be and understatement for the winningest car in NHRA history. Stock was pretty cool also. Peter and wife Emily just had a baby girl and along with there 3 year old son everyone was there to watch Peters win. Sam, Peter's dad and long time friend and partner Phil Monteith were also there. Racing is so much a family sport, making wins like this so memorable. |

Based on the photos the grandstands where lightly occupied, was it like that all weekend or just while the sportsman classes where racing?
Back in the day Englishtown was standing room only. Peter's performance was incredible, but Russell Linke's was too. Last edited by Frank Castros; 06-12-2017 at 08:23 AM. |

Here are two photos from mid afternoon Sunday, I did not post because of the quality. Although the finals in all categories where not run yet, the fans started heading for the gates. I think the heat and getting stuck in traffic maybe have been the reason. I can assure you the place was jammed, just like in the past.
