In the case of Comp, spots are saved based on the number of entries who respond to emails asking if they plan on attending. I'm pretty sure that Alcohol is the same way based on pre-entries received. I can't speak for TD and TS though.

Angelo,
The spots that are saved by racers for there friends are in a area that has room for about 30 rigs on the asphalt. These spots will be filled even if they are saved if the racers don't get here in a timely manner. When talking to the officials, they tell me that all the spots that are roped off are for sponsors, alcohol, comp, top dragster and top sportsman. They are doing the best they can, I know it does not seem fair to some. When the weather is bad, this track can be an issue with parking. On a good note, NHRA Tech officials are coming to the racers trailer to tech the cars in, no need to pull the car out in the rain. Talking about rain, it has stopped. The forecast also looks better for the rest of the week. |

Good morning everyone, bright skies and the rain has ended. We are looking at a high in the mid 70's with a slight chance of rain later today. They are drying the track now, we were supposed to start at 8:30, but it will be a late start for sure with all the rain we had last night.
I few shots from yesterday and this morning, as you can see from the first photo, Motorhome get the wheels up too. Be back later..... |

Stock and Super Stock are done with their first qualifier. Alcohol has been called to the lanes, Stock will run after them for their second qualifying shot. The weather is still holding up as the clouds have come in, but no rain as of yet. Its actually very nice except for the low barometer, its a great day.
