I'd agree with the 1.98's but you need to know your torque readings or have a good idea that you can stand that kind of drop when you go into 2nd. Be prepared for the car to slow down if you had a good 3 speed before.

With a 1.98 first gear and 4.56 in the back, it will work the same on the starting line as it would with a standard 1.76 first gear and 5.13 in the rear. The 1.76 combination would recover better on the shift also. I doubt a 500 hp motor will like a lot of RPM, but there are a lot of variables.
