Why would there be RTs on the scoreboard in an elimination round?

For Tru-Start
since the car that breaks out the most loses,a similar rule should apply on the starting line . |

Dale-
The scoreboards will function exactly as they do now. The only difference is with TruSTART the appropriate win-light wouldn't be on until both drivers leave the starting line. The way it is without TruSTART (currently), the race is automatically (instantly) over when the slower car leaves with a foul start. With TruSTART, the timing system waits for the faster car to leave the starting line, and at that point it determines the winner and turns on the appropriate win-light in a red light (or double redlight) situation. Hope this helps.

Double red heads up
right -0.010 W left -0.012 L Double red handicap (current) right leaves first -0.010 L left leaves second -0.012 W Double red handicap (TruStart) right leaves first -0.010 W left leaves second -0.012 L Handicap becomes as fair as heads up.

I don't see it Dale. In a heads up race the first foul would be the loser...only in handicap races would TruStart come into play. If this is not the case then I see a lot of legitimate gripes coming.

In a heads up race, the first to move would red light the worst. It has to, cannot be any other way.
With TruStart, In a handicap race, regardless of what the dial is, the worse red light loses. 15 sec car leaves the line and no red or green light is on, 5 seconds later the 10 second car leaves the line and either; 1) both green come on and it's a race, 2) red light comes on the slower car giving the faster car the green 3) red light comes on the faster car giving the slower car the green The only thing I don't know is if they are both red, does the least red go green to show he won the round or do they both go red but the win light comes on in the least offending lane? Regardless, nobody will see any difference other than instead of the green coming on when the first car leaves, it will wait until the second car leaves......and the faster cars don't get "freebees". |

You guy's are making this to complicated. It is very simple. Re-watch the video and reread Peter's post.
Thanks Peter for chiming in. Now back to the Poll Canadians please chime in also.

I ran bracket at the tracks that James and Jim run the Combo. I always saw my dial change to my RT on green (or red). I think it flips back to my dial after that, but I'm generally busy with stuff at the time. CJ in the rearview and such... I don't want to get off topic, but one of the things about modern drag racing that confuses new people is a lack of winner info from the scoreboard. On a breakout it gives dials and ET, but not the math that determines how the second car to the line won. If it flashed 10.30 / 10.28 / -0.02 all the info would be up for the fans. Might help with announcer code "Stevens dead on 9 ! Johnson breaks out by a thou !" Scuse me. I'm a data junky.
