There is no real news. But, I can at least give some information about the folks I have been working with. For several weeks I was working with Mark Campbell of Mikronite Crane Cams. Mikronite purchased Crane last year and then hooked up with Motive to make gears for them which they would in turn sell to the racers.

Mark was very enthusiastic about the 5.00 gear project. We communicated several times about the gears and Mark said he would have some concrete feedback from Motive by the PRI Show. I called him back a week after the show and learned that he had a hard falling out with Mikronite and was gone. I believe he was the head marketing person of the new company but they dumped him for reasons unknown to me. My call was referred to Jerry Clay. Jerry was totally in the dark on the project and tried to find out just how far Mark had actually gone with it. Jerry is a good guy but he has not been able to get any feedback from Motive and it looks like Mark may have had several of these "projects" going at once.

I will try to contact Motive to see if I can learn any new iformation. We can always go back to Richmond who did say they would make the gears. But everyone who has asked for the gears has to hang in there with us this time. I'll show all invoicing. I'm doing this because I feel the gears would be an important performance part for all the 12 bolt racers. Hopefully I'll be running 4.56 gears sometime soon.
