Coming from where I used to live (Denver, Co.), although I still feel D's 1-4 have it the best of the 7 Divisions, I strongly feel D5 has it the worst for long tows to Divisionals. (I'm not counting National Opens, because they don't offer seasonal championship points, or contingency money. I would much rather race out of the Phoenix area, than from Denver which is why I was able to get 5 grade points last year.

Try living in El Paso and make all division races...The closest division 4 race is 650 miles and longest is just short of 1,100....one way and never leave the division. That is just one more reason why I moved from El Paso.

Div Six gets that too, there are racers in Alaska and northern Saskatchewan... Medford is quite a distance from them.
The Vegas race is as good as we get out west for numbers of Stock and SS, i'd love to see that "all run" or 128 cars with a bunch of alternates. |

Division Six is interesting. If you live in Medford or Grants Pass, the closest points race is Woodburn, then Kent, Washington, one divisional, and the only national meet, then Eastern Washington, and Mission in BC.Sounds like a lot of towing for them. From Southern Oregon, the closest national open is Redding, div.7. Sounds like the travel situation is pretty common everywhere you look. There's got to be a way to have more opportunities to earn grade points without killing the race budget.I visited my brother nine years ago in Eagle River,Alaska, and drove up to Palmer and looked at Alaska Raceway Park. It's a bit rustic out there, but it looked like a nice place to race. The view from the starting line of that big mountain a mile or two south of the track was awesome. Most scenic view from a driver's seat I ever saw.Talk about a tow from here!

I'm entered in Dallas but most likely not going. Maybe we can make that work out in your favor. I should have a decision made sometime on Monday. I'll let you know.
