It's a long way from 8.20s to 7.99 they need atleast 3-4 mph too maybe more considering traction issues presented by the 9in tire 2 years out imo

Depends on how much they were holding back or if they were holding back anything. There are two unknowns to get to the 7's, HP and traction. Air quality is not as big a deal for a compressed air motor and the Dutch is known for great air. Chassis and tire size will be a problem but I don't think it will be lack of HP for either one of these racers. 8.20 to 7.99 see like a long way but today's technology will shorten up that trip. How short is the question. I will put my money on Holbrook and the 5.0 Ford motor technology to get there first. They will definitely be fun to watch. JMHO Oh and by the way, I have been wrong one time before.

Hey Denny, good to hear from you. I agree that it's a long way from the 8.20s to 7.99. However, they both made those runs at Factory Stock Showdown weight which is 3550 lbs. In FS/AA, which they will be in at the Dutch, they can weigh 3333 lbs. (575 factored HP X 5.50 class minimum weight break = 3162.5 lbs.+170 lbs. driver weight = 3332.5 lbs.), which means that they both can remove 217 lbs. The question is can either of them remove that much weight? No matter what happens, it should be a great show.

Its hard to believe these super car stockers are running faster than the best AH cars with prostock technology. Crazy fast!!

I didn't realize they got to weigh less hmm what's the FS/AA index 9.40? So they will take a hit hmm tough call.

Agreed. That's a huge jump in ET. Hell, it took us an entire season to go from an 8.0 to a 7.9. 😀

But I don't think the tire is a limiting factor. We've gone 7's on a much smaller tire. As many others have as well.
