Chevy Cobalt had a 2.0L turbocharged engine in 2008, but it was FWD. With a tune and exhuast, a friend's car went 12.80 at 112mph. Saturn and Pontiac have this engine in a RWD car, and I bet it would easily run 11's. These motors are rated at 260hp from the factory and they probably easily make 360-400hp with a tune and exhuast.

And OBTW, it's in the guide! It would be one neat H/SA car!

Lol there is ZERO 2015 Ford vehicles in the guide at this time. Not even the CJs.

And this argument no longer holds water since the VIN Mustangs are in the guide for 2014 and earlier also.

Perhaps the ecoboost will show up when the 2015 specs finally get released. The car is impressive for sure.

Billy,

You are correct. I bet a well prepped stocker engine would make well over 400hp. I wouldn't be surprised if they could make 450+hp.

Anyone know if the Saturn or Pontiac turbo combo could be run with an auto? They were Manual only as far as I know. I am sure about the Saturn and assume the Pontiac was the same way.

Just curious, The video says it is a world record. Exactly what sanctioning body or organization verified the legality and certified it a world record?

Both were available from the factory with an automatic or manual transmission.
