Nope, that is a rare Super Drag Pack Mirada, W2 heads on a 360, forged crank, two TQ carbs, rated at 200 HP. It had the famous Chrysler Turboencabulator transmission with Marsel vanes. They secretly made 501 of them, just uncovered in a warehouse south of the Belvidere plant in Illinois. I have the documentation from Tom Hoover. I discovered it hermetically sealed in a mayonnaise jar in Burbank, CA.

I have the choice of doing a Super 6 in an F body or this J body. I am leaning towards the Cordoba but I can't find a CalTrac set up for it. Tried all the other rear suspension fixes on my F body and only the CalTrac does the best job.

The title of this post made me smile ear to ear.... I can remember hearing that commercial like it was yesterday.... I was just a young pup and remember the 'fantasy island' guy saying that and I was like, "wow I want Corinthian leather in my car when I grow up"... Im still giggling now typing this... tooo funny...
Now for the record, I would have sworn it was actually "Rich Corinthian leather".... But a quick search showed both of us wrong, House of Darts... It was "Soft Corinthian Leather"...... LOL By the way, the search also uncovered this wonderful tidbit about Corinthian Leather: Despite the exotic origin suggested by the name "Corinthian leather", much of the leather used in Chrysler vehicles during the era originated from a supplier located outside Newark, New Jersey.[4] Can you imagine if they told the truth in the commercial: "Low Bid, Essex County New Jersey, Leather Alternative Seats" ![]() Anyway.. too much fun.. Clever Post title, House of darts, thanks for the cheer-up. |
