I wouldn't put a sticker on my car for a gift certificate. How many K&N filters can you use?

I am happy to see no Ford issues in this thread.

We have made great strides to improve our payouts to no more than 30 days once we receive the information from NHRA.

I do know that on rare occasions a payout may slip through the cracks on our end or on NHRA's.

If you do receive a payment within 60 days of your win please email an inquiry to fcntgcy@ford.com with the date, class and event you earned contingency at.

Feel free to cc me on those communications as well, jkershaw@ford.com

As we roll out more contingency programs it is critical we stay on top of payments and we appreciate your feedback.

Thanks.

-Jesse

Note that this was for a semifinal finish, which is awarded above and beyond their monetary postings for win/ru. Having a race car (or two), a tow vehicle, and a street car, there are enormous opportunities to use K&N oil filters, air filters, and air intake assemblies. They do a tremendous amount for sportsman racing, and I for one am very appreciative.

It's the appreciation and patronage of companies that support drag racing that makes them economically viable means of marketing.

On different note, I think it says a great deal for Ford to represent themselves here in public, too. I had the pleasure of meeting Jesse at Indy last year. Young, enthusiastic, and genuinely passionate about the sport. They have a great liason that readily sets them apart.

I won the points meet in Brainerd last year and had no issues with any of the companies. There was a couple that emailed me and it went to Junk Mail, which I didn't receive their request for W9. I sent them an email and received payment. I was really impressed. I don't have the list in front of me but by memory I recall, FAST, Comp Cams, ATI, Impact, K&N, Jegs, Summit, AFCO, PAC, Moroso, VP, Autometer, Harland Sharp, Hoosier, Strange, Aeromotive, ARP

K& N will not pay if you actually don't have the air cleaner on in eliminations. At least they would not not pay in my case, so I took their decals off. I tried to explain its really rare for a Superstocker to actually run air cleaners, and I have them on the motorhome, but no dice.....Just to make you all aware

Sponsors are very clear when it comes to what a competitor must do to be paid any contingency monies--- Unfortunately I wish they were as concerned about fulfilling their obligations when it's time to pay the EARNED contingency monies-- I know many racers that race with the car devoid of many "paying contingency sponsors" who for some reason manage a way to finagle out of paying!!!! It's BS we know it is- they know it is and NHRA pretends to be totally oblivious to it--- Those decals can come off in a minute if need be-- Money talks BS walks ---Pay the money it isn't gonna break em for 25-300 dollars if it is they have no business trying to be big operators. And NHRA should enforce it----Suggestion if the sponsor has not paid you in a reasonable amount of time and you satisfied all the requirements necessary. show up at their company unanounced if its close and tell them you are their to pick up your check -- you will scare the hell out of them bet you get your money ASAP- kinda a same story but I had a problem getting certain parts from a well known Transmission company---all kinds of excuses for several months from them finally got on a plane flew to their facility and announced I was tired of their BS I'm here to pick up my stuff--shoulda seen the look on their faces they were totally flabbergasted-- I picked up my parts in about 15 minutes---never had problem with them again

All Sponsors require use of posted product and display of posted product decal beginning with the first round of eliminations.

Some don't care. Just depends. We have a Pro Trans and a Rossler Trans. Carl ( Rossler) He told me " you paid me the money for the tranny, so I'll pay". He doesn't really care which one is in the car at that particular race.

correct Jeff, we found that out long ago so we justt started keeping the filters somewhere in the cars and all was good no trouble getting paid.

The solution to the situation regarding deadbeat sponsors in my opinion is pretty simple. We as racers communicate pretty well and we know and communicate who the good/prompt payers are and who the companies are that you have to chase to the four corners of the earth to get your contingency money. We collectivey have to not only stop advertising their company by running their product stickers but, quit buying their products. Trust me, they will eventually get the message when they see the masses not using their products. It is an important marketing tool to see their stickers and products when a racer is in the winners circle. When they see there is no product usage and product advertisment decal on cars that are in the winner/runner-up circle, they take notice. But, if you allow them to get away with their payout practices by advertising and using their products, they are going to continue to do it.
