$4million cash. That could have been raised with a little time.
Was the Track profitable? Should have been near Dallas.
That is a huge metropolitan area.

Thought Texas was the hot bed of economic activity?

I count 9 other tracks within 100 miles of the DFW area, 2 of them in very close proximity to this track. This certainly has to be part of the problem.

No, Crandall is easily the nicest facility. IMHO I think it's much nicer than Ennis which holds an NHRA National Event but it doesn't have the luxury boxes or as much room in the pits or spectator side. I don't know why their car count is low but there is no way they can be making money. It's not uncommon on a bracket night to have less than 50 cars TOTAL on the grounds racing. We won street one night when there were THREE cars! You can't tell me there are only 3 cars in the DFW area that are street/strip vehicles that bracket race. I grew up in East Central Ohio and it wasn't uncommon for Quaker City to have 50 cars alone in the street class. Pro and Super Pro would have 100+. I've never seen Crandall full. Maybe it is because there are so many other tracks to choose from in the market but all of them together wouldn't be as nice as this one.

With that many area tracks somebody must be doing something right in how they treat the racers, prep the track, promote events, etc. and therefore turn a profit. So which track(s) manages to draw the racers and make money? In such a large metropolitan area somebody must be doing it "right" or is participation just that poor at all of them?

I think unless times have changed over the years most guys race @ Kennadale, Ennis was not well run when I raced there.
