Used to run Goodyears for the longest time, got a pair of Hoosiers from Craig Porter back in 2007 or 08 and the 1st run it wanted to rip my head off coming out of the waterbox and they had 60 or so run on them at the time. Finally got a new pair in 2009 and they lasted almost 200 runs (I know that's a little too long) and the sidewall started to act like Jello but, the car was still pretty consistent before we bought a new pair in July of this year and won the 1st race out. Plus for all the D1 racers out there Roy at Hoosier is one of the best to deal with for tires. Don't think I will go back to Goodyears

Jeff, that car treated Ray well and visa versa.
Not as fast as some ,but deadly consistant.....Ray could throw a .90 at you every time you ran him. Welcome to Super Gas !

A lot of cars built in the late '70's and into the '80's that were built around a tire like the 12.2x31.25 or the older 14x32's are running the Hoosier 31.5x12.5 DO5 tire.
It's a stiff sidewall tire. Check the website for the size info. http://www.hoosiermidatlantic.com/su...subCat=2&cat=1

Neither
Mickey Thompson ALL the way, I used to have Hoosiers on my dragster, and I made the switch to M/T my car got WAAAYYY more consistent. Then my father had switched from Goodyears on his Vega, and got a set of M/T on the car, first race, was in the finals. I will give you one good reason why M/T are superior, if you wanted to go in the 7s with a 10.5 radial tire, which tire brand would you choose? (EVERYONE runs a M/T) and you want to run on the stop with a 14x32 or a 16x33....Mickey Thompson all the way. |

Hoosiers, I usually get ~125-150 passes on my S/C dragster then the 60' times become inconsistent.
