they blew another game for matsuzaka, what else is new. That one homer off Beckett last night was his one mistake, and he pretty much made Jeter look like a fool afterwards.
Did you notice Giambi's excellant feilding the first game? lol, good thing he juices otherwise he'd be a terrible hitter too!

Telling it like it was When Jonathan Papelbon woke up yesterday morning after blowing the game for the Red Sox against the Yankees, he hit the snooze button once. Then twice. And a third time. Normally, the reliever would sleep in. But Papelbon made a commitment to attend a clinic with a bunch of young kids from Boston, and he kept his promise before the team's 10-1 win. "It was tough getting up and getting out of bed," he admitted. "But I promised those kids. It's kind of funny. They were all in bed by the time I pitched [Friday night], so they started asking me all sorts of questions. "They were saying, 'Hey, I saw we lost the game. What happened?' So I had to tell 'em, 'While you were all sleeping nice and tight in your beds, I went out and lost the game for us.' " Papelbon said his students were wide-eyed as he relayed the gory details of his performance. "But then I told them, 'Good teams pick each other up after a game like this,' " said Papelbon, who didn't pitch yesterday. "And that's what we ended up doing." |

Greg , It is a great idea and has been talked about previously. The only issue with it is that scheduling is soooo tough that we are just numb by this time of year, trying to just get our regular schedule in is tough. There are 6 weekends left before november when the tracks close up here and in that time we have, ATCO div1, Sportsnationals (columbus), Richmond National, Dutch Classic, one all star race and the shootout race. I think that is 6, lets hope mother nature goes easy on us.
I promise to ask Dave Ley what he thinks about a race between the 2 associations As far as the race that we just rained out yesterday, We most likely won't make a decision about the rain date until after Atco. Back in 2001, i went cross country with my family and we raced at the 50th anniversary nnational event in pomona. it was on the 4th of july. We are at the track racing and it showers for about 15 minutes. No big deal, it dries quickly and I think they lost maybe an hour or so. Do you know that 2 west coast racers came up to me and appologized for the weather, Ha I thanked them and said NO PROBLEM at all. We are from Division 1 and we RAIN OUT every other race True story and as far as ASRA races this year, we may have rained out more than that average

I think a stock/superstock race with both groups would be a lot of fun.But for all racers, not just top 16.A bunch of guys having a great time. Also I would recommend a race or two at Sanair in Canada. Was just there for stock/superstock race and had a great time.

ECSSS already has a date that Dave mentioned in November. It'd be cool to see a bunch of ASRA guys head down and run with them. We're already planning on being there too.

There is a perfect spot on RT 2 here in CT between Glastonbury and Marlborough about 1/2 mile long, straight and recently paved, that would be perfect....I know 'both' officers in Marlborough and several from Glastonbury..I'm sure we can work something out !....and my father still has most of the timing equipment from Connecticut Dragway !!!! What's up ? lol

Alternatively, maybe you could convince the Consumer Reports people to simply let you guys borrow Ct Dragway for a day! Last edited by david ring; 09-19-2007 at 06:28 PM. Reason: added a sentence |
