i few years back they used to show the sportman finals. i never missed a viewing when they did that and always looked forward to the 2 minutes they gave to the slow guys. i sure do miss my favorite 2 minutes of tv, instead its the force family drama hour..

I got so bored with the interviews that I started flipping over to NFL preseason replays and then checked back periodically to see if someone was going to race. I missed a few runs but it was only Pro's so who really cares.
I only watch it because it is drag racing not because I gove a hoot about the private lives of any of the racers. |

I'm not much of a Nascar fan but I got stuck watching the race from Calif.Speedway on Sunday night because the rest of my reletives at a Labor Day get togather all are fans. Don't shoot the messenger but i'll have to admit the Nascar race was far more entertaining then I would have ever imagined & compaired to the poor Espn coverage of Indy on Monday (again for about the 10th year in a row) I won't watch anymore Drag racing on Tv ever again because it's just plain boring & besides how many times do we have to talk about all of John Force's new sponsors & the 2-new cars & swimming pool he just bought for Ashley at her new house?? At least when you watch the Nascar roundy-rounders you see some actual racing going on!!! lol

Heard DAT!!!! You have to look real close to find the LODRS coverage to get your 15 seconds of real Sportsman coverage now...... If it ain't on fire, it doesn't get on TeeVee, unless it's something to do with Force. Paul Page, puhhhhhleeeeze...............the guy would never have been on TeeVee to begin with if he hadn't gone down in the ABC affiliate traffic copter about 20 years ago. His payoff was a long term contract, then for some reason, if you were from Indianapolis, you were automatically a "motorsports expert commentator", ala Robin Miller, a drunken, washed up local news columnist. At least Miller does weasel his way into enough pit spots and garages to get some gossip, but that is all. |

Love it or hate it, Pinks (both versions) get more viewer's than ANY NHRA pro-series TV coverage. What does that tell you?
You could take something like the SS/AH shoot-out and even the Class runoffs and garner the same type of energy for TV as shown on Pinks. It just takes a knowledeable host to build up the energy and there will be viewers! Really, if you can take some of the ho-dunks on Pinks and make them look like hero's, imagine what they could do with NHRA Sportsman racing!
