When you first met him 35 years ago, what was he doing? Standing in line outside of the Social Security office to sign up?  In the time I have spent racing the best thing I have gained from it is the great people I have had the chance to meet, and Tom Ward (a.k.a. The Old Man) is at the top of that list. Joe, I think as I remember Tom was standing at the ET slip window trying to get the girls attention, but the window was too high and she couldn't see him!
