Peter has gone 28 rounds in a row in stock (and still running). Some of you guys may be impressed, but unless he dose it in a stick car or a blue car, it's no big deal. BTW 6 wins at Indy with 3 different cars and not one is blue.

-=shrug=- I was .018, .015, .018 in eliminations on Sunday, but as it turns out, you have to drive *both* ends of the race track!

Peter is a phenomenal driver, but he's far from being an anomoly.

As a student of the sport, you may find a large number of examples of driving talent on this level. Luke Bogacki had 3 R/U's and 2 Wins in two days at Abliene this weekend. Austin Welch has footbraked his way to Box class wins at Roxboro not once but twice this year. Chip Horton has won over 700 races and 23 track championships -- and he only has one leg! (footbrake, no hand controls) Terry Brouse won the Stick class championship three years in a row at Beaver Springs, and he only has one arm - his left one! Jeff Verdi is 59-9 this year. You'll find a lot of statistical data in the IHRA Summit Super Series points where a number of drivers have finished 28-2 this year.

Point being, if you open up your field of vision, you will have better perspective.

As someone pointed out to Shooter on DRR when he insisted that anytime you drive the finish line to double-oh that it's luck... "Just because you can't do it doesn't mean that it can't be done."

Ed O'Brien's question, did the Biondo's use delay boxes before it was legal ?
Great question Ed and one you've asked many times. If Sam or anyone else around the country did use a delay box before it was legal, this mean exactly what? To me it means they used an idea that others did not think of and they used it to win races......Eventually these devices were out there for anyone to use. They were legal and then banned around here for a few years even in bracket racing. They are more sophisticated than ever now and still legal in some categories and illegal in others. NHRA doesn't look much but they have spot checked at many races and included some of your favorite targets. Why do really good racers run no box categories? Because they are better at bottom bulb racing without a delay box than many other racers and they can increase their chances of winning. In a categorie that allows delay boxes they have less of an edge because the box is a great equalizer. If you took the time to watch some of the racers you point fingers at you'd notice that some use a blinder to block the tree.......why would you use a blinder if you had a delay box? If someone was smart enough to develop and use a delay box to win races, it is no different than the guy who figured out how to outrun you in a headsup race with a better engine or driveline. If it was deemed to be an unfair advantage and ruled illegal and they were caught using it then you would have a point. That is not the way it all came down. Delay boxes have been an issue ever since they showed up. Banning 2 steps and buttons in stock would be a good move by NHRA to help eliminate the possible use of delay boxes....... P.S. I have never heard Peter on a 2 step in his present car on the starting line !

Peter,
I could cheer for you louder if you were a shoe salesman.

Thumbs up Re: the Terminator,,,,,,biondo

Congrats Peter, great Job. The guy who built that car should get some credit. Tom Kurtz. Tom is a major contributor to Peter's success. That car is deadly consistant, fast and very reliable. There is not to many better or smarter than him around the pits. He is a great guy as well. If that Ray Allen Chevelle was worth 1 mil because of the races it won, than this 69 Camaro should be worth 2 million. I don't think another Class car ever has won many races or rounds as this car has. Again Congrats to Peter and Tom for another US Nationals victory.
