A rear bumper cover is not the same as lower valance (as you would find on see cars that have an exposed chrome bumper).
Maybe NHRA should change the language to "rear bumper cover or lower valance".

Semantics aside, For a change NHRA did the right thing.
The wording would be applied to mean a steel or plastic component at the bottom of the rear bumper/cover.

I hate to tell you the wording was probably from me because the DP has just that-a cover. Nothing there. I think on the stock cars we can get them through the exhaust slots, but not on a fat tire car. It was the right move.

We need the wording to include the valance also. Ex. 69 Camaro metal under rear bumper. Just saying.

Jeff, my understanding was this "change" was to include whatever was under the bumper, tin or plastic. Did I get this right?

That's right Jim, you have to realize you are dealing with Bobby Brannon, a little behind the times. He wants wheelie bars from the roof down.
