Bullet cams & converters isn't what pure stock used to be.

Glad to see interest in pure stock, I would be interested in some sponsorship for P/S runoffs. Lloyd Riley RCE machine works.

My pure stocker has Bullet cam that meets specs for lift, duration, and overlap, and valve springs check on stock specs also 80 lbs@1.710 /160 @1.??? that # got pushed out by new info have to look up,LOL
I think converter rule was hard to enforce, used to be stock then went to 2500 stall then changed to no rule on stall.. Mike Taylor 3601 |

IHRA Pure Stock rules have been largely unchanged for many years.
Aftermarket camshafts are permitted, but "must check on or under factory specs for lift, duration, and overlap." Transmissions must be stock, unaltered, except for shift kit. Aftermarket converters are allowed. IHRA Rulebook is available online, see Pure Stock on page 47-48: http://www.mydigitalpublication.com/...tion/?i=136499 donc - thanks for your support! Will send you a PM.

NHRA had pure stock before IHRA existed. They were pure stock. Didn't last long. No much participation then either.
Dan, I don't have a stocker. Have no desire to drive what I do have on the street. It used to be a nine second NA street car that still got close to 20 mpg. :-)

YEAH remember it well, ran Pure Stock in 19(oh)73 Then the Blueprinted cams replaced that because of creative cheating. Which is basically what we have today as Pure Stock.. But you make a point. Heck the new Mustangs can run a 9 second ET and can get 20mpg. Just need a Supercharger.. Dan |
