Cool Re: What your cost per run down the track

One time at Pomona, we were hanging out at a racer's trailer, the subject of money came up,(and these were very successful racers),and one of them said,"Some people tell me they do this for fun.I do it for money. That's what I'm interested in". I wanted to ask him if we were talking about the same sport.

My actual costs are very low, it is the food and beverage department that is the problem. Like "The Don" says. I go to a party and a drag race breaks out.
One of the larger expenses is race fuel which is only good for a week or so according to fuel check, at $11.25 / gal, good thing I get 2.5 runs / gal.

Actual Bo, I am not depressed anymore. I just told my boating friend about this cost calculation. Now he is depressed. Not me, I am looking forward to racing at the gators next year. I like staring directly into the sun at 8:00AM and racing

Ron's got it right if you have a problem with the cost of a race car ask someone who has an ocean fishing boat. The race car will seem cheap in comparison. I remind my wife about the cost of the boat we use to have and she has no problems with building a new race car.

We are only talking gas/fuel here: the ocean boat, probably 1,100.00 to fill it, the bay boat 50.00, and the race car 70.00 to 120.00 depending on how many rounds. I don't know why I feel this way but sadly we lost our ocean boat during the hurricane SANDY, so looks like we'll be using the hell outta the bay boat this year. BARGAIN

Kelly; according to my calculations $200 for beer for 2 people is 15 beers a day. Looks like my cost per round just went way up!

Thumbs up Re: What your cost per run down the track

Why would you ever want to check the cost per run.....that's like checking fuel mileage...when it needs gas ...stop at the gas station and buy gas...Steve
