I recall the thread about both he and his wife having cancer. He sure loved to put that Olds towards the top of the chart. God speed to another great racer...

That is a terrible shame. Always enjoyed talking and racing with him and Norma. Couldnt hold a candle to him to track, but they were great to laugh with after the runs. My condolences to Norma.

Deepest Sympathy from Waibel Competition. Doug was a true friend, mentor, fellow racer, and great man. We will truly miss him at the track and just a phone call away. Go rest high on the track in the sky!
We just talked to Doug a few days ago and he never even told us that he was having a problem. He didnt want us to worry... Just talked to us as though everything was just fine. I took a picture of Doug and Norma at Gainesville last year and I believe it to be the last time she was able to be with him at the track and maybe the last race he was at.
