Lynn,
Google "Dave's Vega Village". He will have whatever you need for a Monza or Sunbird and will ship directly to your home or business.

Nice new pics guys. It`s renewed inspiration for me after hurting two motors this past season. Was very close to sending mine in for scrap, will just let it sit for a couple of years and then do something with it.

It's not costing you anything if it's just sitting ... keep the faith !

Monza or Vega...which looks better? Personally, I like the Vega's better in styling. Any year. I had a '75 Black / Gold Cosworth and I wish I still had it. Make a KILLER Stocker or even a SS/GT keeping the original paint.
And I remember when the Monza's came out and the fastest cars at the track were Monza's. Loved the look back then but somehow the Vega's have grown to be my favorite.
Once had a daily driver '78 Monza with a 262 V-8 and a 4-speed. Added a cast iron q-jet manifold & q-jet with dual exhaust dumped at the rear end. Fun little car except the little 8" (?) got ate up pretty easily!

Check this Cosworth out! 291 miles:

I have a soft spot for those Monzas too. I have had several. My 262 auto was a decent little car for the money I had in it. I found a rusty donor stick car and converted it to a Four speed. I put dual exhaust on it and drilled out the jets on the factory 2bbl.
I also had one with a warmed over 350, t 350 with shift kit, vega convertor and headers. It was my daily driver and weekend bracket bomber. It had air lift bags. Friend of mine drilled the axles for 5 lugs and I never broke that rearend. I ran 8 x 26 slicks on it most of the time. It would go easy low to mid 12s at 109.
I did have problems breaking the rear trans mount due to the torque arm and tearing the rear shock mounts out of the floor at times!
I knew when the trans mount was gone because it would shift into secind on it's own when the trans raised up and pulled on the stock shifter cable! LOL. Made many many runs in that car! Finally, it was just rusting apart to the point where I couldn't keep it together. From a roll, it was a pretty good street performer and never left me stranded as my daily driver.

Although I too liked the Vega's better, I wish I would've looked for a Monza that had the 262 and the auto in it (once I found my original one and saw that my original engine/tranny were scrapped for a pontiac 4cyl and a 4spd). The Monza's and similar bodied cars (such as Lane's), were easier to work on, and probably easier to find hop up parts for (than my Cavalier)...plus they would've been faster than my 140ci 4cyl Vega was to start...some more ideas of possible future (if not a replacement) race cars???

I'm glad I saw that Stocker version in thread #28, as that let me know what one of them would've looked like in stocker trim...thanks Tim!

Joe,

I just got a search engine for used parts? I am afraid these OEM parts are brittle just like mine and cracked into a million pieces. Anyone make new replacements?
