Bobby dee always park on the corner off the return road at Indy ( those that knew him know where I am talking about) and every year there was a Buick 350 hanging on a engine hoist after first day of qualifying. The other motor was always going to be faster.
Bobby D was quite the character as described above. I remember when Dunlap set up a stock super stock race at Terre haute, I got there early and bobby d was the only stocker in line , I walked up to his trailer and he told me to set down. He said son these stocker boys won't tell you ****, bit let me give you some speed secrets, I wasn't dumb enough to try them cause I figured out he was trying to use me as a test dummy. Wish there were more characters like him still racing, made it real interesting going to the track. P.S. He made Freddy, Buddy, Kenny and Bobby look like preachers. Rip Bobby D, you were one of the greats.

Bobby always came up with the "trick of the week" that for sure was going to make you go faster. He called me in the dead of the winter one time and told me i had to go out and order some d569 something rotor caps because he knew they are going to be worth a few hundreths!!! After a hard day at the track he would get out a big bottle of what he called" loud mouth"!!!
